Life just doesn't stop! I'm so sleeeppy, I don't like working this haaaaard. But Yuki-kun and I managed to finish the bare bones of the bacteria detector... albeit, with a bit of a bang. We didn't have to call the fire department this time, though! Just needed to use the fire blanket. This bacteria project is more exhausting than ever and I'm so out of my depth, but it's really rewarding at the end of the day. And the cat word bank is starting to draw to a close, so we might be able to start trying that out sometime next month.

I want to do something mechanically simple to make my brain stop hurting. Anyone have any stuff they want fixed? Like anything. Clocks, toasters, showers. Whatever.

Nap Time

Haven't slept in a while, but Hiro-kun's not in critical condition anymore, so, I think it's safe to nap for a bit~

I found out lots in England, mainly about how this project might require some serious work on my behalf, but it's promising as far as the device goes! I should be able to go ahead with it :D

It was fun, Gakkun! Sorry it got cut short. We'll do it again, sometime, next time I have research to do in other countries.

-Jirou

[ooc: So...the project is not actually viable in real life, because the only differentiated bacteria that exists is in your brain and your gut flora...which aren't exactly going to be left behind at a crime scene. But this is RP, so I can pretend :D]

Contacted the bacteria article man...and he emailed back and it kinda went back and forth! He's really nice and willing to put up with all of my stupid questions since I don't know much biology beyond what we did in high school. But as for how the bacteria might be able to be detected by chemicals, he said that he'd conducted an experiment that I really had to come to England in person and see that would help me get it more.

I told him it would have to wait until the New Year or after, because one, I'm really busy, but also two, because I want to understand the stuff he's talking about before I go see him! Gaaaaakkkuuun, can you translate some chemistry into japanese for me? Or English too! That works! I don't get much of his technical explanations. Maybe I shouldn't have morphed into physics mumbo-jumbo when he asked for an explanation of what I was thinking about doing....

He also said that I should set up a bacteria culture myself to understand it better, but that's not ever going to happen. For one, Marui-kun works with food, so not at home, because that's asking for something to go wrong. And work is so messy, that it might accidentally get lost or opened, which is worse. I can just look at the Bio department's stuff, I think.

But I really hope that I can get this project working. I really want to make an invention that can really make a difference instead of just increasing convenience of life.

It's so straaange. Imouto-chan called today and she said it was her graduation really soon and she was calling me to save the date in advance, since March is a while away and she knows I get busy. But it's so straaaaange. She was like...tiny, just two years ago, and now she's graduating high school? Okay, she's still tiny. She got kaa-san's tiny gene, but she's grown up now and that's just weiiiird. I can still call her imouto-chan, right?

And...uh...if you see plumes of smoke coming from a large race-track...that might have been me. Need to realllly work on making my rocket-powered stuff actually work....

Anyone want to go for karaoke or clubbing or something soon? I'm kinda bored~

Hee. That was fun~ Thanks for the trip, Kei-kun!

I'm almost done with your personal warmer, Kite Eishirou-kun! Your specs were a bit...boring, so I added some features I thought you might like~ Since you're a policeman, hopefully they'll be useful :) You can pick it up tomorrow, or if you're too busy, I can send Yuki-kun to deliver to your office!

Hmmm....anyone else have any ideas for stuff they want me to make? It's strange only having one project to do. Especially when I'm still waiting on the bio department and the linguistics department to finish. If it takes any longer, I might just try to compile it myself and see how much faster than them I can go.

My bandages came off today~ I'm freeeeeeeeee! ^__^

And I was thinking something interesting when I had to go shopping for a new set of shirts....what if I could try to make something that automatically models what you'd look like wearing clothing? You'd already have your measurements programmed in and then you'd scan the clothes and it'd show what it looks like and you'd never have to worry about getting changed again! Fun, right?

-Jirou
sleepygenius: (asleep)
Would inventing an idea maker be redundant? Because I'd like one right now :/ I've gotten so bored, I actually just slept through all of yesterday. It was fuuuuuuun, but now, I'm just more tired :(

Gakkun, want to have a office-chair racing day?

-Jirou
sleepygenius: (laughter)
Yuki-kun is the most awwwweeeeeesome assistant ever. He actually helped me figure out what I did wrong with the portable charger by just looking at the blueprint~! It's working now and has a patent pending to be submitted. Gakkun, I'll bring the charger over tomorrow ^__^ Keep it quiet until the patent's gone through, ne?

One project down...three projects in a state of limbo. Hmm, at least I'm not allowed to work anyway, I'm idea-dead. This new diet is kind of exhausting. I'm not used to it yet. I'm taking more naps than eveeeeeeeeer :/

Oh, and Marui-kun! Didja want to go swimming soon? The weather's getting nicer again~

Today was interesting...I guess. Kinda. Not really. We had a mini fire in the tech department. Luckily. I was the only one who got set on fire. And stop, drop and roll has never been so useful~! I've got a minor burn on my hand and got wrapped up in the fire blanket, which really stinks. I don't know what they cover it in, but that smells bad :/ I took two showers, and the smell still wouldn't go away.

But yeah. Bandages for a couple days then lotsa burn cream for awhile after that and no wearing long sleeved shirts until it's fully healed. It's not so bad as skin grafts or something...but yeah. I'm supposed to stay off work for a week.

I'm kinda sleepy, but the pain doesn't really do much for sleeping. So it's been four hours and I'm bored already. Anybody want to come and entertain me? ^__^

Updateeees

Huh...I haven't posted in a while. But I've been suuuuppper busy~! Four projects at the same time is nothing to sneeze at~! I don't think I've been home all that much. Sorry, Marui-kun.

Inui Sadaharu-kun! That self-driving car with those turnable wheels is almost finished! It was a toughie, what with the not skidding when the wheels turns and the motion sensors actually detecting and stopping everything in time, but it looks super awesome. Wanna test it with me on Friday?

The animal translator is not doing so well. On my end, in any case. The translators say they're still making a language bank, so I haven't got to do anything work with them. But the two dogs, Lucky and Charmed are supppper cuuute~!

The portable mobile phone charger...is heh, still in the works. It still electrocutes you when it's fully charged, because it thinks you're the capacitor... ^^; Need to fix that. I'll get you a cool charger in time for your birthday, Gakkun! Promise!

And....my fourth secret project is still in the works. Coming along reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaal slow. I think I might not be done for a while.

And I gained a kilo! Another five more and I'm not in danger of slipping again.

Kirihara Akaya-kun? Is it possible to borrow a couple of small dogs from your shelter? It's for science and awesomenessssssss. Do you know any well-behaved ones?

I've been working on blueprints for Gakkun's idea about a portable mobile charger. Well no. I stole the blueprints from Kaguya-senpai and made them better and more efficient. I think I have it down, but I need some tech circuitry to make my idea of the human body's natural electricity acting as a charger to work for real, so when I'm back in Japan, I'll get that done~!

Oh, and Inui Sadaharu-kun! I'll be back in Japan on Friday. Are you free to show me the car blueprints then? While I'm waiting on paperwork for the animals to be allowed for the animal translator, I can work on making the car perfect.

Jirou~
sleepygenius: (hopeful)
Kei-kun~! Do you think I could try and make an animal translator? Marui-kun and I were talking about it and I think it's soooooo possible~! We could find cute animals and try to find out what they're saying! It'd be super awesome ^_^ The science behind it would be complex though...and I'd need a language expert! Could you help?
