Michi-chan likes hunting. Michi-chan also likes disturbing my naps by leaving half-dead rats on my face DDDDDD: I almost broke a lamp when I woke up /o\

Also, uhhh... I was trying to make that hoverboard technology better, but it sort of propelled itself out of the door at high speed and might have maybe crashed into the bio lab's samples...? This is worse than the robot chicken incident.

...it's not been a great day.
sleepygenius: (sheepish grin)
...Michi-chan's claws are sharp for something so small. My pillow is just feathers right now. Ooops? I think we need a different scratching-post, Tezuka!

Also, the hoverboard prototype broke down again because people keep forgetting that you have to use non-alkali batteries -___- I left a note and evvvvveerrrythiiinng. Do I need to make a department-wide announcement or something???
sleepygenius: (Default)
After like, a billion years in production, we finally got a hoverboard working! It's powered by hydrogen, which is admittedly a little dangerous, and not reaaaallllly that feasible for real life, BUT. I am done with the prototype which is all we were commissioned to do, and I can stop being a recluse at work and ignoring everything else!

Maru-chan, do you want to go somewhere for dinner? I haven't eaten proper food in aaaaaaaagggeeess, just vending machine stuff!
sleepygenius: (laughter)
Gakkkkkuuuuunnnnnn~~~~~

Happy Birthday! I made you this cool watch and I'll find you later today but I'm really glad that you're my friend! ^____^
sleepygenius: (sheepish grin)
I have been swwaaaaallloooowed by work. We're working on a top secret project, my colleagues and I and I've been working maybe 16 to 17 hours a day? It's been really fun, but I'm soooooo behind on everything else in life. I don't even know what's been happening to most people.

Latest gossip, deets? Ooh, and Tezuka-kun, would you like to grab lunch somewhere? I haven't seen you in ages!

Maru-chan, what's this about being a daddy?

sleepygenius: (hopeful)
I dreamt about this awesome manga with all sorts of cool stuff and fun times, and when I woke up, I couldn't remember any of the details about it. Which sucks, I was hoping to actually read it or even write it down or something. Never mind the fact that I am limited to drawing blueprints >>;

But I have been thinking, wouldn't be awesome if you had an accurate mood ring? Like an actual thing where you can tell other people's emotions at the time? It would be really useful....

sleepygenius: (yay!)
Still can't get over that awesome party. Thanks everyone for coming! I had a fabulous birthday and thank you for the presents :)

Golden Week means less work for most people, but mostly, it's the people at the front desk reminding me that it's Golden Week and that I shouldn't be at work >>; I just sort of sleepily end up here. I guess old habits die hard. Ehh, there's only a couple of days left, they can put up with me for a bit longer.

Tennis is hard :/ My serves are pretty awful, like I'm ten and relearning it...need to work harder~

Heeeeeeeeeyyyyy

Happy Birthday Maru-chan! :D 26 today, old man~ I hope your day is fabulous and the party goes well, and I don't know why I'm saying this here instead of telling you in person, so I'm gonna do that now~

Testing is underway for the starch battery! We pretty much genetically modified a potato to consist of nothing but starch and I think it's going to power what we want to it. I'll have to try the batches with different amped objects and then see how long each one takes, and the experimentation process for that is going to take a while, but we're moving forward!

The word bank for the cat translator is slow moving progress though :( Apparently, our test cats are pretty reticent, which sucks. But whatever, I'm resigned to me not being able to finish this by the end of the year...it doesn't look too bright for the translator future.

Another thing that isn't bright for my future is that nii-san wants to foist his kid off on me for their anniversary in a week's time...it cries a lot. And won't sit still. I can barely deal with it for ten minutes, let alone a whole night. I don't know what I'm going to do >>;
sleepygenius: (delight)
I've been thinking of taking up tennis again. Like, more regularly than I have been doing now. Because as much as I love Maru-chan's cooking, it's not helping with my weight because I can't force myself to eat. Still struggling a bit. So, I think that I need to gain more muscle mass. Maybe that will help. Maybe it won't. Either way, I think I'd feel better about actually doing something towards gaining more weight, besides just trying and failing to force myself to eat.

I also saw the light today, regarding the translator. I have ideas, and they all came from these two birds I saw squawking at each other when I was walking home today. Exciiiiited~

sleepygenius: (crying)
So...I really think I'm going to go and nap in Kei-kun's office from now on. I woke up from a nap in my office and there was a huge spider climbing up my arm. I have nothing against spiders, but huge ones on you when you're waking up and not ready for it, is not cool! I spilled juice all over one of my blueprints and the ink ran :( Now I have to redo it all over again. It took me three days to do it before.....

Is nothing safe? First frogs, now spiders...next thing I know, I'm gonna wake up and I'll have a tiger gnawing on my head :|

And I almost got ran over today, by someone who couldn't see that the pedestrian light said green. That was terrifying. He braked just in time, but god, I was so scared. I just sort of froze. Got to be one of the closest calls with death I've had. I didn't see him at all.

...I just want to go and nap for a long, long time and wake up without frightening things on me. I mean, other things can be on me~! Like kittens or rabbits or birds. Cute things. Things that won't make me wary of napping.
sleepygenius: (sheepish grin)
.....I was peacefully napping in my room in work and then I woke up to a frog opposite my face. Of course I freaked out and knocked over that somewhat unstable compound for the bacteria thing. Um. If you work at Atobe Corp, please don't smoke anywhere near the Inventions Department while I clean up, please ^^; Sparks might just result in the building going sky-high and that would be a shame.

...Frogs are creepy. Who the hell figured out that I sort of hate them? Because there's no other way that it got in here.

sleepygenius: (cold grin)
So, I was reading an interesting article about how scientists could potentially use water in batteries as a fuel and conductor. Which got me thinking about something. You know how like in elementary school, we use potatoes as small batteries for clocks and things? Couldn't we use other electrochemical substances that are as organic as potatoes to make electricity? It'd be a lot greener, like this water thing, if they get that working. Because then, if your battery explodes, you wouldn't be in danger of burning your finger, but just a small splashing or even having some starch product hit you.

Anyway, Maru-chan! Movies! Which action movie do you reckon has the cheesiest name: Reckoning Grudges or Pursuit of Redemption? Since those seem to be the worse movies around this year~

And no Gakkun, your electric wheelchair is not going to be any faster than walking pace :|

Sleepily yours, Jirou
sleepygenius: (worried)
In the hospital if anyone needs me. Gakkun's kind of...not in a great state. So, I'll be hanging around here.

Shit. It's the first time someone else has been injured thanks to one of my inventions. Usually, it's just me... I....I don't think I'll be making anything new for a while. It was...he's not...oh god.

-Jirou.
sleepygenius: (delight)
Chooooouuuuu-kun~ Happy birthday! :D Maybe the next year be completely awesome and filled with lotsa progress. I'll get you your present tomorrow, since I won't have work then!

-Jirou

[ooc: It's a small collection of the photos that Jirou has of Choutarou with his old boyfriend and a little bio of what Kazuya was like from other people's eyes.]

Ahhh, household maintenance is so relaxing when you aren't worrying about other stuff. Though, I could really use those gecko-gloves that they're making in Germany, to reach some of the light fixtures and stuff. Ladders are okay, but so precarious :| I guess I could try making some, but I'm not sure if I'd be allowed, since they patented it already....it should be okay if I don't sell it, right?

Nii-san's wife's kid is nooooisy. Usually, nii-san's house is deathly quiet, but when I was around to pick up some stuff, it was really loud because it was wailing. Like a fire-engine. I really hope I wasn't that much of a pain as a kid...I remember mum and dad saying that I just slept a lot, so I wasn't too loud.

-Jirou
sleepygenius: (snooze)
Life just doesn't stop! I'm so sleeeppy, I don't like working this haaaaard. But Yuki-kun and I managed to finish the bare bones of the bacteria detector... albeit, with a bit of a bang. We didn't have to call the fire department this time, though! Just needed to use the fire blanket. This bacteria project is more exhausting than ever and I'm so out of my depth, but it's really rewarding at the end of the day. And the cat word bank is starting to draw to a close, so we might be able to start trying that out sometime next month.

I want to do something mechanically simple to make my brain stop hurting. Anyone have any stuff they want fixed? Like anything. Clocks, toasters, showers. Whatever.

Nap Time

Jan. 16th, 2014 03:55 pm
sleepygenius: (napping)
Haven't slept in a while, but Hiro-kun's not in critical condition anymore, so, I think it's safe to nap for a bit~

I found out lots in England, mainly about how this project might require some serious work on my behalf, but it's promising as far as the device goes! I should be able to go ahead with it :D

It was fun, Gakkun! Sorry it got cut short. We'll do it again, sometime, next time I have research to do in other countries.

-Jirou

[ooc: So...the project is not actually viable in real life, because the only differentiated bacteria that exists is in your brain and your gut flora...which aren't exactly going to be left behind at a crime scene. But this is RP, so I can pretend :D]
sleepygenius: (cheerful)
I'll be back soon! Don't miss me too much~

Ahh, I hope I can sleep on the flight. I brought my pillow, but you know. Cabin pressure's weeiiiiird. And there can be crying children. I'm good at sleeping, but sleeping when there are screeching children behind you is difficult. And the flight is long. Luckily, I brought the new volume of Tooyama-sensei's new manga, so that should keep me busy, even if I can't sleep.

And now I'm worrying if I brought enough spare parts to build. Do they have stores that sell spare bits in England?
