So, I was reading an interesting article about how scientists could potentially use water in batteries as a fuel and conductor. Which got me thinking about something. You know how like in elementary school, we use potatoes as small batteries for clocks and things? Couldn't we use other electrochemical substances that are as organic as potatoes to make electricity? It'd be a lot greener, like this water thing, if they get that working. Because then, if your battery explodes, you wouldn't be in danger of burning your finger, but just a small splashing or even having some starch product hit you.

Anyway, Maru-chan! Movies! Which action movie do you reckon has the cheesiest name: Reckoning Grudges or Pursuit of Redemption? Since those seem to be the worse movies around this year~

And no Gakkun, your electric wheelchair is not going to be any faster than walking pace :|

Contacted the bacteria article man...and he emailed back and it kinda went back and forth! He's really nice and willing to put up with all of my stupid questions since I don't know much biology beyond what we did in high school. But as for how the bacteria might be able to be detected by chemicals, he said that he'd conducted an experiment that I really had to come to England in person and see that would help me get it more.

I told him it would have to wait until the New Year or after, because one, I'm really busy, but also two, because I want to understand the stuff he's talking about before I go see him! Gaaaaakkkuuun, can you translate some chemistry into japanese for me? Or English too! That works! I don't get much of his technical explanations. Maybe I shouldn't have morphed into physics mumbo-jumbo when he asked for an explanation of what I was thinking about doing....

He also said that I should set up a bacteria culture myself to understand it better, but that's not ever going to happen. For one, Marui-kun works with food, so not at home, because that's asking for something to go wrong. And work is so messy, that it might accidentally get lost or opened, which is worse. I can just look at the Bio department's stuff, I think.

But I really hope that I can get this project working. I really want to make an invention that can really make a difference instead of just increasing convenience of life.

Wow, I'm so busy! My schedule's all packed! It's nice to be kinda busy, but I may have to sneak in occasional naps so I can be on my top game :) Okay, so correct me if I'm wrong. Kei-kun's party on the 21st and the 22nd, then dinner with Chou-kun on the 24th and Hara-kun's karaoke show on the same night. Then breakfast at Kei-kun's house with Hiro-kun and Ryou-kun on the 25th, then lunch at aniki's house on the 26th! Did I miss anything?

The animal-translator word bank finally finished~! I can make some proper progress there now :D But we've hit something of a roadblock, in that Lucky and Charmed's movements and tone of barking are scanned by the computer, but that we need to make a bit of negative space and leeway for the movements to be different. I guess it's like how we all talk a little differently? Different accents and tones apply for dogs too, because their movements will be slightly more pronounced or less pronounced and the tones may vary slightly. So I guess we just need to try the translator out on several dogs and see the kinds of variation we can get? I dunno.

But I've also had another idea for an invention. I was reading this article when I was travelling and it was about how everybody has unique bacteria to them, because everybody's body is a little different and that changes the niches of your microbiome. So the bacteria, which change and adapt according to their environment really fast, because their generation times are so much shorter than the animal kingdom. So i was thinking, most criminals now know to wear gloves and things to try and hide their finger prints and skin shedding. But you can't hide your bacteria. If there was a way to detect the bacteria and scan the bacteria for every person, it could be a new way to help find criminals.

Hooommmme~

Hooooome again~ Just in time for Christmas stuff. The lights always look so pretty this time of year. I've got a small book of invention ideas from the train journey home, so I think I'll be drawing up designs and running them past people to see if they're okay. Then work, work, work~

I lost a couple pounds again though, from travelling around and not eating as much as I should have. Guess I'm starting from scratch. I don't know why it's so difficult to make progress but so easy to spiral downwards.

I...actually have an idea for something. I'm not sure how feasible it is and it's definitely not one of my best..but I think I'm getting back to normal. Hopefully I'll be all better when I get back home next week. I'm kinda relieved. I don't want to be a burden to my sister or to Kei-kun.

I'm slowly starting to be able to go through life without thinking about Yuki-kun and his girlfriend all the time. If this is what love is like, I'd rather go hide somewhere I'll never feel it again. Ryou-kun's advice was helpful...but I'm still soooooooo lost. At the same time, I want love and then I don't.

...I get hurt enough in real life and my experiments, I don't need to get hurt mentally as well. I'm just so tired of hurting and getting hurt. I don't know how other people do it. Maybe I'm weaker or something.... My mood's been going down recently, so I've been sleeping more so my sister can't tell that anything's wrong. Because then she'll tell nii-san and he'll feel guilty, and it's not him. He's...just a part of the problem, I suppose.

I had a dream a while back where I went to sleep for a very long time and woke up and the world had changed around me when I was unchanged. At that time, it was a nightmare, but I'd almost welcome it now. except Kei-kun and Yuu-kun and Gakkun and Ryou-kun and everyone wouldn't be around anymore or they'd be really old. That would be sad. But I'd like a nice long sleep for a few years or so to get my head on straight.

....I saw someone who looked just like Sakaki-sensei today. It was weird! But....it was in some weird shady alleyway. I made me remember all those weird things we used to wonder about how Sakaki-sensei had so much money from just being a teacher and a musician, right? What if he really was in the yakuza or something?

But yeah, my sister said that it was a stupid conspiracy theory and it was probably just someone else who looked a lot like him. Still, she didn't see him.....it could have been!

My mojo still isn't back yet. I'm kinda wondering when I'll get it back. Maybe travelling isn't for me? I should go visit some invention fairs or museums or something. Maybe that will help....

Oh yeah, Marui-chan! The rent should be due soon! Tell me when the bill arrives, and then I'll make the transaction from here.

Hee. That was fun~ Thanks for the trip, Kei-kun!

I'm almost done with your personal warmer, Kite Eishirou-kun! Your specs were a bit...boring, so I added some features I thought you might like~ Since you're a policeman, hopefully they'll be useful :) You can pick it up tomorrow, or if you're too busy, I can send Yuki-kun to deliver to your office!

Hmmm....anyone else have any ideas for stuff they want me to make? It's strange only having one project to do. Especially when I'm still waiting on the bio department and the linguistics department to finish. If it takes any longer, I might just try to compile it myself and see how much faster than them I can go.

My bandages came off today~ I'm freeeeeeeeee! ^__^

And I was thinking something interesting when I had to go shopping for a new set of shirts....what if I could try to make something that automatically models what you'd look like wearing clothing? You'd already have your measurements programmed in and then you'd scan the clothes and it'd show what it looks like and you'd never have to worry about getting changed again! Fun, right?

sleepygenius: (asleep)
Would inventing an idea maker be redundant? Because I'd like one right now :/ I've gotten so bored, I actually just slept through all of yesterday. It was fuuuuuuun, but now, I'm just more tired :(

Gakkun, want to have a office-chair racing day?
